And the Oscar goes to............

This year's Oscar was much less boring than the previous ones. It wasn't very interesting but yeah it was still okay. Hugh Jackman had an opening number and sang with Anne Hathaway. Oh, didn't know the 2 of them could sing that well. There was also the Beyonce, Zannessa and Domanda performance. Then there were also surprise presenters like Halle Berry, Shirley Mclaine, Cher, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Adrien Brody and Robert Deniro.

Best Picture - SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

Steven Spielberg presented this award. When Slumdog Millionaire was announced, i was thinking okay, Button didnt win. However, when i saw the faces of the kids from mumbai i thought well, it was all worth it i guess. An epic lost to a little movie about love and life.
SEAN PENN - MILK
Most of the people thinks it would be Mickey Rourke but deep down in my heart, i always knew it would be Penn. The Academy loves him more than Mickey and the fact that Mickey is acting as himself gives him alot of negative points. Sean Penn, 2 times Oscar winner.
KATE WINSLET - THE READER

The Actress who the Academy owed an Oscar to finally had the chance to get a standing ovation, take the little gold man home and join the list of elites which includes Meryl Streep, Katherine Hepburn, Cher, Kathy Bates, Hilary Swank etc that would bring her long down history lane. I love Kate.
HEATH LEDGER - THE DARK KNIGHT

Heath Ledger definitely deserves the award. Being only the 2nd one to have won an Oscar posthumusly, Heath Ledger received a standing ovation and loads of applause from the whole Kodak Theatre when his named was called. His parents and his sister accepted the award on his behalf and thanked the Academy. All the best for you up there Heath.
PENELOPE CRUZ - VICKY CHRISTINA BARCELONA

Known to be the frontrunner ever since Kate was pushed to Lead, Penelope commented on the podium that she might be the first to faint there. She gave a rather nice speech although you have to listen hard to know what she is saying. Well done Penelope.

Best Director - Danny Boyle, Slumdog Millionaire
Best Foreign Language Film - Departure, Japan.
Best Original Score - Slumdog Millionaire
Best Orignal Song - Jai Ho, Slumdog Millionaire
Best Film Editing - Slumdog Millionaire
Best Sound Editing - The Dark Knight

That's all for this year, Thank you very much!

The Silver Screen Babes show us how it's really done.

The Academy Awards is finally here and before the fight in the Kodak Theatre, the stars are trying their very best to take down the others with their dresses and tresses. Here are the very beautiful ladies whom you've probably seen on the big screen.

Queen of my heart Kate Winslet showed us class, sophistication and beauty all in one.

08's Best Actress Marion Cottilard stepped away from the mermaid silhouette and hops into a black stunning number.

Penelope never fails to dazzle and this time, it was a 60 yrs old dove grey coloured gown that helped her knock some of her other carpet divas down.

Greatest Living Actress of all time Meryl Streep wore a dress to the Oscar's. Always not much of a fashionista, at least she tried plus, she looks really comfortable.

Miss where were you? Natalie Portman wins hands down for brightest dress on carpet award. Well, at least she looks good.

Viola Davis' dress has a good cut but im really not very sure about the colour and fabric choice.

1st runner up for brightest dress on the red carpet award goes to Alicia Keys. Wait, what is she doing at the Oscar's?

This is what i truly call effortless beauty. Playing it down with a simple black dress, Angelina Jolie still looked smoking hot and i really like her earrings. She is a true beauty.

It isn't nice but it is very Tilda Swinton in a way that its cool. At least it wasnt the black garbage bag she wore last year.
Evan Rachel Woods never fails to look like a sex siren on the red carpet and this time, the colour of the dress made her a holy maiden that every teenage boy dreams about.

I like the dress, i actually think that the bling completes Queen Latifah's look.

It's hard for someone as sweet as Amy Adams to pull off a red dress on a red carpet but she does it well tonight with the softness of the fabric and the beautiful statement necklace just makes her look sweeter than honey.

Vanessa Hudgens in a black gown that was lengthened for her with the little details at her bust. I think was rather sweet and age appropriate.

Taraji P Henson in a stunning white number. I really like the train of the dress and it fits her so well.

Melissa Leo was kind of a horror here, i have no idea what she has been thinking of.

Marisa Tomei really surprised me (in a very good way) when she showed up at the Oscars. She must have seriously realised that the "Stuffs" she wore to the previous award shows were hideous and so decided to step up her game and chose this beautiful & elaborate dress. You go girl!

Sarah Jessica Parker

Leaving at home all the bling this year, Beyonce Knowles didn't fail to seek attention with her embroided gold/black number. She must really want to match the Oscar.

Anne Hathaway arrived in a wonderful silvery sequinned dress that sparkles and shimmers like her radiant skin. Absolutely gorgeous anne.

Amanda Seyfried looking good and once again, we see the bow.

This was one of my favourite dresses of the night but im not sure it looked that good on Miley Cyrus. Girl, what are you? 26?

Freida Pinto, touted as the must watch fashionista showed up in a dress that was defnitely the most exotic ones of the night. It has got all the little details that makes the dress feels indian and Freida pulls it off very well.

Supermodel Heidi Klum once again in red, looks good but not good enough to stop traffic. Try harder beautiful.

London, Paris and Singapore

In life, there are people you meet and bonds are formed. These unseeable force between people is something that nothing except the involved parties can ever remove. Now, i am very thankful for the people currently in my life and the bonds that i share with them. I have the friends that anyone in the world would die for. I'm not saying all of them are great because there are some people that's just not meant to stay for long. You cross paths with them, maybe they last for a couple of days, weeks or even months. It's okay. At the end of the day, be thankful for what you have and show them that you are thankful.
I just received an email from a lecturer in school. There is a trip to London/Paris for 8 days during april. Part of me wants to go because its the place that i'd always dreamed of. The streets, the culture, the people and everything. However, it's with my classmates and i'm not sure if i want to go with them. I'd be alone and far away from my friends. I wouldn't even survive the long duration on air. I guess i'd have to give this chance up.
Currently, they are my world.

Connection, separation & Reconciliation.

Hey there my love, have you seen the letters that i wrote to you?
Telling you how very sorry i am to have broke your heart,
not knowing how precious you really mean to me.
What an idiot i must have been,
to have forgotten how good it felt when you're holding me.

Will you drop a single tear if i am no longer around?

I too believe in Karma.

Others around me have enough troubles of their own to hear mine. I've been having a bad month. Bad Hair, Bad Skin and Bad things happening to me. I just want to turn time back and edit the things that i did, the things that others did and the things that nobody did. I hope that things will turn out well for me starting tomorrow.

My lecturer told me that she sees potential in me, something the rest of the class doesn't have. I think she is lying but whatsoever, i think i should not be so slack-ish in school anymore. I should just buck up and show em what the real me is made of. Someone who can se dresses meant to be worn. Hahah, i felt funny when i typed the few lines before. Just wanted to see how i sounded when im confident because she says i have a very low self esteem and i need to start believing in myself. How to? What's there to believe in?

Even if it leads nowhere.

Vday was spent..... well. Yes i would say it was spent well because even though there weren't any love from a lover, there was love from friends. We walked around town, visited a carboot sales, got into trouble, witnessed a guy giving roses for the very first time, had dinner at changi, sat by the beach, played at a playground and watched a midnight movie named slumdog millionaire before heading home. Though isaac was locked out of his house so he slept at mine. Tonight is a sunday night and i've got this sour feeling in my heart. Something is missing, empty and it ain't feeling good.

Everytime i fall into the darkness, i'd pray that you'd be the light that pulls me through.

Course Manager

My school life is seriously damn fucked up. I seriously don't know why. I really like the course that i'm in but all the block teaching, un-communicative classmates, weird lecturers are ruining it. I have to see the course manager tmr and i got a bad feeling about this. Fuck it lah.

BAFTA red carpet

The BAFTA 09 red carpet was downright cold and low number of A-list celebrities have turned up due to the "far away-ness" and rain. It was 1.30am here. Now, however, the A-listers that turned out didn't fail to bring their hollywood glam with them. The colour that reigned that night was black. Meryl, Kate and Penelop all wore black. Meryl is in something that is very her and i think this was nice, very comfortable, very regal. Kate's Zac Posen dress has a interesting neckline and cuts very well on her body. Penelope opted for black again, this time her dress is body hugging and embraces all the right curves on her body. I really like the hair and jewelry. She looks amazing.

Sharon Stone looks good in a simple red number, though she looks wrinkly on tv. Marisa Tomei finally stepped away from horrendous fashion choices but still failed to look fabulous beside her other better dressed collegues. Young and beautiful Emma Watson looks fabulous in a black dress that is brought to live by the detailing.

Angelina Jolie actually wore something that isn't a potato sack. I just love the fact that she actually bothered to put on something that makes us think she actually bothered to choose something to wear. I think the dress would have looked better with a train or something. Amy Adams opted for blue and it was rather fabulous. It isn't as nice as the other choices she made but still, she looks good.

So, the best dressed at the BAFTA would be Penelope Cruz. Well done there but the final competition is on the 22/23. Don't disappoint me.
Now, Grammy's are next!
