Summary of the Golden Globes 09

Okay, at the very start of the show, Jennifer Lopez very quickly announced the winner of Best Supporting Actress in a movie. I was basically jumping up and down infront of the tv. The wonderful actress was very shocked to win the award and she was like :"I'm sorry, i have a habit of not winning" because of the previous 5 nominations and 0 wins for both golden globes and oscar. lol. Well done there Kate. Then, about nearly 2 hours later, everyone in the room and those at home were shocked when her name was announced for the winner of Best Actress in a Leading role. She basically teared and needed help to get onto the stage. That was the third time i was jumping around.Yes, even i couldn't believe that she won over hot favourites Anne Hathaway & Meryl Streep. Will it give her a solid standing at the Oscar's? I hope so.

The second time i jumped is when Heath Ledger was named Best Supporting male for his turn as the Joker in The Dark Knight. The audiences in the room gave him a standing ovation. If you're up there Heath, i hope you are truly happy.

Of course there are the upsets of the night. The fact that Mickey Rourke won instead of Sean Penn for Best Actor and that Sally Hawkins beat out hot favourite Meryl Streep for the Lead in Comedy/Musical.

Slumdg millionaire was the big winner, taking home 4 awards including Best Picture. I was happy because i read the book and it was really good. However, this means another movie i liked went home empty handed - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". Take care.
